WHY NOT $5?

When we came up with the idea for this site (and purchased the domain name) the idea was simple… shoot valuable tutorials that could be sold for $5 each. People pay $5 to see a music video, there’s no way they’d have a problem paying that for a 5-minute video that will help teach them what they need to do for their business or passion.

It’s now been over a year and we still hadn’t been able to commit enough resources to just spend a month funding and shooting our own series of tutorials… because we’ve been busy working for other people… because they pay us money… which allows us to do things we enjoy such as eating food and not dying.

Along came Drew. He wanted to hire us to shoot a tutorial series for him, and when we asked if we could sell them as our inaugural set on 5dollartutorials.com he said SURE! The one caveat… he was selling his for 5 British Pounds each! Sadly, the dollar has fallen way behind the pound, so in order to not undersell Drew on his own tutorials, we have to sell them for $7.50 each (actually don’t tell Drew, but they SHOULD be like $7.80).

IN THE FUTURE

Our tutorials really will be $5 each. Some will be less, none will be more. But since we had to choose between launching the site now with some weird pricing or not launching for at least a few more months… well $7.50 it is!

We have some awesome tutorials all planned out and will actually be shooting many of them soon. Everything from shooting photos and videos with your 5DmkII, 7D, 60D, Nikon D7000, etc… to shooting amazing panoramics on your iPhone. And a hint to those still reading… the mailing list is where we will be doing our giveaways… which will happen whenever we have a cool new release.
